Hosted by the Korea Volleyball Association and sponsored by Jecheon City, the 80th National Volleyball Championship will be held in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, for an eight-day schedule from the 28th to May 5th.
The National Volleyball Championship boasts the best history and tradition in Korea, which is held every year, except in 1950, when the Korean War broke out, starting with the first competition in Seoul in 1946, the year after Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. A total of 113 teams from all over the country will participate in the competition. This year, Dongsan High School in Taiwan will participate as an invited team in the beach volleyball team and the women's under-18 team. The winners of the under-18 team will be eligible to participate in the 33rd Korea-China-Japan Junior Comprehensive Competition, which will be held in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for seven days from August 23 to 29, and the best players of each category will be offered an opportunity to participate in the 2026 Aichi and Nagoya Asian Games international competency enhancement program, including scholarships.
Jecheon City will hold a total of 7 consecutive competitions from the 74th competition in 2019 to the 80th in 2025. It is expected that this competition will contribute to revitalizing the local economy and expanding the base of volleyball.
The opening ceremony of the competition will be held at Jecheon Gymnasium from 5 p.m. on Saturday. The association will broadcast the entire competition live through the AI SPORTS TV application.
